How does PATHFNDR define sector coupling?
Sector coupling aims to improve the sustainability, reliability and affordability of energy sources by connecting supply and demand across sectors.
Why does is sector coupling important?
Sector coupling can improve higher shares of renewable, energy efficiency, and flexibility of energy systems. Ultimately, it allows to extend the design possibilities to enhance the techno-economic performance and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions.
How is sector coupling measured?
Sector coupling is measured through the energy flows between and across dimensions and sectors.
