PATHFNDR Final Event 2026

On the Path to Net Zero:
Flexibility and Sector Coupling as Key Drivers

After five years of research, the PATHFNDR consortium gathers for its closing event to present its results on flexibility and sector coupling for the Swiss energy transition.

Aimed at political and economic decision-makers alongside the research community, the day synthesises the consortium’s work into ten statements, published in the Synthesis Report “On the Path to Net-Zero.”

Keynotes by Antje Kanngiesser (CEO, Alpiq) and Prof. Dr Dirk Müller (RWTH Aachen) set the context in the morning, followed by researcher presentations; in the afternoon, an interactive exhibition walks guests through the ten statements and what they mean for government, industry, and others.

Opened and closed by PATHFNDR Co-Directors Prof. Dr André Bardow and Dr Christian Schaffner (ETH Zürich), the event concludes with an apéro for continued exchange.
